Earth is the natural energy for the month of May

The natural energy that is predominant for the month of May is Earth energy. It will be a time in which you can put a focus on self-love and cherishing. A time during which it is vital to take opportunities for self care. After the months of March and April where the predominant energy was change – this new loving, nurturing energy will be a welcome relief. Below is a beautiful spiritual practice that will help you to navigate this.

“The Tao teaches that the fundamental law underlying everything in the universe is utterly plain and simple, no matter how complicated life may appear.” Dr. Debra

Through an understanding of the energy, and engaging in this dedicated spiritual practice, it is possible to align yourself with the natural energy of the Tao.

This alignment will create balance in your life; it will enhance your connection to your higher self and with others; it will make it easier for you to live a life of flow; life will be easier; and you will feel happier.

Understanding the energy of May:

The energy of the Tao that is closely aligned with the month of May is earth energy

Earth energy represents self-love and cherishing and is life giving and nourishing. Dr. Debra

The story of earth energy:

Isn’t the energy of earth, the life giving beauty of our planet incredible? Somehow it’s just too easy to forget that without our planet Earth, without earth energy none of us would exist. Earth energy sustains us; provides us with food, air and water. Earth energy provides us with opportunities to make the soul choice to have an incarnation on this planet.

Light expanding earth energy is part of your life on those days when you feel nourished and able to nourish others.

When you are able to cherish and feed yourself mentally, physically and spiritually and this allows you to be nourishing to others. It starts with respecting yourself and feeling worthy of making yourself a priority.

Light expanding earth energy shows up when you give and receive love easily; when you effortlessly connect with others; when you feel that you belong. And all of this is happening while you keep your sense of self.

Earth energy provides life. Earth energy provides transformation. Earth energy provides opportunities for your soul evolution. Earth energy helps you understand that you need to take care of yourself first; put on your own oxygen mask before helping anyone else.

The trigram of the Tao for earth energy is three broken lines, three yin lines. Yin energy is receptive, still and tranquil.

Excerpts from the book “Daily Pulse, rhythm of the Tao”, written by Dr. Debra.

Spiritual practice for the month of May:

1. Intention:

An intention is a goal or something to aim for and setting an intention gives you direction in life. An Intention is your stated desire to act in a certain way and be a certain kind of person. For the month of May, use this intention:

My intention is to live in the energy of earth; to live as a nourishing and nourished person who keeps a sense of self in relationships.

2. Breath Prayer:

A breath prayer is a wonderful way to bring you to the moment, to the ‘now’. Seth teaches that you can only create your life from this moment; life is not created from the past nor from the future. Finding your way to happiness can only be done from now and a breath prayer is a quick and efficient way to bring yourself to this moment.

Find a comfortable sitting position, rest your hands in your lap or hold them by your heart. Close your eyes gently, feel your scalp and forehead soften. Breathe in and breathe out, place your focus and attention on the top of your head. Quietly and to yourself, state:

I know who I am. I am important and significant and I choose to feel valued.

Breathe in and breathe out and quietly and to yourself state:

I reprogram myself towards the energy of earth and I breathe in worthiness and I breathe out unworthiness. I breathe in nourishment and I breathe out sacrifice.

Continue with lovely soft breathing and say a quiet thank you for who you are, exactly as you are.

3. Journaling:

Journaling can take many forms including writing, drawing or scrapbooking. It is a way to record your experiences so that you can review them at another time and build on what you have learnt. Often journaling allows for insights that you may not receive if you don’t take this creative time to reflect.

Journaling questions:

Q1: Is it as easy for you to nourish yourself, as it is to nourish others? Why is that?

Q2: What might change in your life if you did ‘put on your own oxygen mask first’?

Q3: How would your life feel if you did give and receive love easily, effortlessly connect with others and feel a deep sense of belonging?

Q4: What could you allow into your life to experience more of the light expanding energy of earth – for yourself and for others?

4. Antidote and Action:

There are things that you can do, action that you can take, to bring earth energy and the profound teachings of the Tao into your life. In May, make a choice to:

  1. Connect with others by allowing them to nourish you; and by nourishing them.
  2. Balance your life by focusing on your self love and who you are.
  3. Find flow and non-resistance by consciously choosing not to be so hard on yourself and making a choice not to be over sensitive to perceived criticism.

Just for fun you might like to consider:

  1. What is the energy of your month of birth?
  2. How does that relate to your SolePath? Your LightPaths? Your DarkPath? Your governing number?
  3. If it’s unrelated to any part of your SolePath braid, what might that mean? How does this natural energy manifest in your life?
