The Story of Numbers
Although there are approximately 6,500 languages spoken around the world, there is only one language of numbers, and nearly all cultures use the same primary numbers 0 to 9. Galileo said that “Mathematics is a language God has written the universe in.” There is a constancy to numbers and their meanings, and something unalterable and indisputable that can be relied on.
Carl Jung considered numbers to have psychological meanings. He defined numbers as archetypes or personalities that have moved from the unconscious (metaphysical state) to the conscious (physical world). He believed that numbers symbolized the structure of individual personality and the creation of order in the physical world. He saw numbers as having cognitive abilities and intelligence as well as metaphysical properties.
