Terms of Use
Last updated: September 22, 2026
These Terms of Use apply to the SolePath Institute website and the SolePath services made available through or in connection with it. By using a SolePath service, you agree to use it in accordance with these Terms and any additional terms shown at the point of purchase or enrolment.
1. About SolePath
SolePath is a proprietary Temperament & Character Recognition framework that reveals patterns shaping behaviour, choices, relationships and the way a person lives.
SolePath is provided for education, self-understanding and personal reflection. It is not a medical, psychological, psychiatric or clinical diagnostic system and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
2. Two Ways to Know Your SolePath
SolePath can be known in two different ways, and they reveal different dimensions of a person:
- SolePath Discovery identifies the SolePath expressed through character — the person you have become through lived experience, relationships, learning and choices.
- SolePath Measuring uses energetic measuring to identify temperament — your inborn pattern of responding, present from the beginning.
A character braid and a temperament braid may be different. That difference is not treated by SolePath as a contradiction, and neither method is a medical, psychological or clinical assessment.
3. SolePath Companion
SolePath Companion is an AI-assisted educational and self-reflection tool. It uses the individual SolePath braid assigned to the Companion account, together with approved SolePath source material, to help the user consider choices, relationships, reactions and everyday situations through the lens of that braid.
Companion responses are generated using artificial intelligence. Unless expressly stated otherwise, they are not written or individually reviewed by Dr. Debra Ford or another human practitioner before they are delivered.
AI-generated responses can be incomplete, inaccurate, misunderstood or unsuitable for a particular situation. Companion is intended to support reflection, not to replace the user’s judgement.
4. Not Professional or Emergency Advice
SolePath Companion and other SolePath materials do not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, legal, financial, tax, investment or other licensed professional advice. Seek an appropriately qualified professional when a matter requires professional assessment, diagnosis, treatment or advice.
SolePath Companion is not an emergency or crisis service. If there is an immediate risk to health or safety, contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified local support rather than relying on Companion.
5. Your Decisions Remain Your Own
SolePath offers a framework and perspectives for your consideration. You remain responsible for your own choices, actions and decisions. A Companion response should not be treated as an instruction to take a particular action or make a particular decision.
6. Information About Other People
SolePath can help you reflect on your own responses within relationships, but Companion cannot know another person’s true motives, intentions, internal state or complete circumstances unless that information has been independently established.
Do not treat Companion’s interpretation of another person as established fact. Avoid entering unnecessary confidential, identifying or highly sensitive information about another person into Companion.
7. Children
SolePath Discovery is not the method used to identify the SolePath of a child because its reflective questions rely on lived experience.
SolePath Measuring may be requested for a child with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian. SolePath information about a child is intended to help a parent or guardian understand and appreciate the child’s temperament; it should not be used to restrict, stereotype or predetermine the child’s abilities, choices or future.
8. Accounts and Access
Where a SolePath service requires an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials reasonably secure and for notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
Access periods, enrolment conditions and any restrictions that apply to a particular product or service will be described at purchase, enrolment or within the relevant platform. We do not impose additional automatic penalties or forfeitures in these Terms unless they have been expressly stated for the service concerned.
9. Purchases, Payments and Refunds
Some SolePath products and services are purchased through Inner Wisdom Hub or another checkout presented to you. Payments may be processed by Stripe or another payment provider shown at checkout.
Prices, taxes, payment schedules, access periods, cancellation terms and refund terms applicable to a particular purchase are those presented at the time of purchase or in the specific offer.
Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. SolePath Library of Record
SolePath Institute maintains a Library of Record so that SolePath results can be accurately identified and maintained over time. A Library of Record entry may include the SolePath result, a Library of Record number, identifying information needed to distinguish the person, and information reasonably necessary to preserve the integrity of the record.
Use and retention of personal information associated with the Library of Record are described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Intellectual Property
SolePath terminology, framework, braid structures, written materials, books, course materials, graphics, logos and other original SolePath content are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.
Unless permission is expressly granted, access to SolePath materials is for the personal use for which they were supplied. You may not reproduce, publish, sell, distribute or commercially exploit substantial SolePath materials, tests, course content or proprietary methods without permission from the relevant rights holder.
Nothing in these Terms prevents ordinary personal use of your own SolePath result or of Companion responses provided to you for your own reflection.
12. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use SolePath websites, learning systems or Companion to:
- break applicable law;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or restricted content;
- interfere with the security or operation of the service;
- use automated tools to extract substantial proprietary course, test or system content without permission;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship with SolePath Institute; or
- submit material that unlawfully infringes another person’s rights.
13. Availability and Changes
We aim to keep SolePath websites, learning services and Companion available, but internet-based services sometimes require maintenance or experience technical problems. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.
We may update, improve or discontinue features or services from time to time. Where a material change affects a paid service, we will address it in accordance with the terms of that service and applicable law.
14. Companion Inputs and Outputs
You remain responsible for the information you choose to submit to Companion. We may process that information to the extent necessary to operate and provide the service, as further described in the Privacy Policy.
Companion outputs are generated for the user’s personal reflection. AI-generated wording may not be unique, and another user may receive similar language or ideas. Your use of an output does not transfer ownership of SolePath’s underlying framework, books, course materials, system instructions or other proprietary content.
15. Disclaimer and Limitation
To the extent permitted by applicable law, SolePath services and materials are provided for educational and self-reflective use without a guarantee that a particular result, outcome or decision will follow from their use.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit a right, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Any additional limitation of liability applicable to a particular paid service should be stated in the terms presented for that service and, where appropriate, reviewed by qualified legal counsel.
16. Privacy
Our collection, use and retention of personal information are described in the SolePath Institute Privacy Policy. Please read that policy together with these Terms.
17. Governing Law
SolePath Institute operates from Alberta, Canada. These Terms are intended to be interpreted in accordance with applicable Alberta and Canadian law, subject to any mandatory consumer or other rights that apply in the user’s jurisdiction.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as SolePath services or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted on the SolePath Institute website with its most recent revision date. Material changes affecting an active paid service will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the terms of that service.
19. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be sent to SolePath Institute through the Contact page on the SolePath Institute website.
